Position: Project Manager, Site Superintendent

Should have extensive background in organizing and planning, cost awareness, documentation, scheduling and controlling profitable high and low budget projects as well as managing Trades and being familiar with Building and engineering codes city requirements and WCB regulations. Should be an excellent communicator, safety- minded and able to provide project leadership and independent judgement whilst contributing to working in a hardworking and quality service environment.

Qualifications:

• Should have at least 4 years engineering degree or equivalent
• Additional business management training is a plus
• Budget and basic bookkeeping
• Minimum 2 year of project management experience
• Prior leadership experience
• Effective negotiation and communication skills.
• Should be honest, dedicated, hardworking, flexible and have a sense of high integrity

Job Description:

• Able to communicate effectively with the management and participate in initial designing and planning of projects.
• Able to read blue prints and engineered civil drawings
• Set up project budgets and do cost projections.
• Hold regular meetings with project team.
• Keep management informed of changes and effectively communicate relevant project information as required.
• Direct supervision of staff and subcontractors
• Planning and organizing and supervising crews, which include size of crew and life- cycle of the crews for maximum effectiveness.
• Co ordinate subcontractors on site and assist in updating the project schedule.
• Able to identify changes in project scope and assist in updating the project schedule
• Able to identify changes in project scope and assist in pricing changes for material and labour.
• Review project cost and labour reports with management and develop improvement plans as appropriate
• Enforce site safety, owner liaison and other contract management aspects
• Responsible for field documentation such as daily logs, timecards and other reports.
• Schedule inspections with the city.
• Interacting positively with trades, owners, consultants, city representative and clients. Provide training and development assistance for other labourers
• Able to complete project on schedule and within allocated budget
